How much information? During this easy sign-up process, you'll be asked for some personal information that will help us to match you up with the person (or people) you're looking for. The more information you can supply, and the more accurate it is, the better the chance you have of finding them. It's that simple. And it's completely free of charge.

First... you'll need to supply your name, address and contact details, along with any information you're willing to supply about your occupation (and any previous occupations, if any). If you've lived in different areas (or even different countries), it will help if you tell us about that too.

If you're looking for a biological parent... you'll need to give us as many significant details as possible (if known!) from your early life history - your birthday, place of birth, the name of the hospital you were born in, the adoption agency that handled your case (if applicable), and the year and month of your adoption (if known). You can supply as little or as much information as you want - but remember that the more you can tell us, the better your chances are.

If you're looking for your children... you'll need to give us as many historical details as you can. The idea is to match up what you tell us here with what they tell us about their own life history when they sign up as well. That way, we can match estranged parents and children very accurately. Ideally, you'll need to tell us about childbirth hospitals, areas (and even countries), adoption agencies used, and any other information that you think might help us find your children. As always, the more information you can give us, the better your chances are.

Finally... when you have completed your registration, you will need to tell us as much as possible about the people you're looking for. This isn't part of the registration process though - it's something you do once you've finished registering, by using the "I'm Searching For" option (which you'll find on the 'My Account' page.)

Data protection... we take a very serious view of data protection, and we assure you of full confidentiality wherever you ask for it. We won't give your information to anyone for any reason without your express permission. We never sell (or give) information to other companies, and you won't get unsolicited e-mail messages from us. Your information is kept is a secured database. The computers that process your data are isolated from the outside world, and are kept under lock and key at a secured compound. We always respect your wishes concerning your information, and will gladly purge any or all of your details from our systems at your request at any time.
