Rejection

Question...

My "son" found me just over 5 years ago, 32 years after I had to give him up for adoption. We've had 5 years of getting to know each other, trying to sort out a relationship, many visits to each other, all our families involved. I thought everything was fine and settled at last and that we'd be friends for life. It has just come to a horrible, unpleasant and final end as a result of a cruel, hurtful email from him (to me and my husband). I will never understand why. I can't believe I will never see him or speak to him again. He and his family came to my daughters (his half sister)wedding just a few weeks before, his daughters were bridesmaids. I feel that he has done this to punish me. I just need to know why he has done this after 5 years?

It is sad that even after five years rejection can happen for so many reasons.

We suggest that you write a polite letter explaining that you found the email hurtful but you would like to move forward and ask if there is something you have done to upset him. We are sure that you will get a reply and then you can decide whether to continue the "friendship"
